BALTIMORE, MD – As part of its ongoing series focused on individuals and organizations making important social impacts, Authority Magazine recently spoke with Kelly & Associates Insurance Group Chairman and Co-Founder The Honorable Francis X. Kelly Jr. about life lessons in leadership and the importance of giving back.
Following the founding of KELLY in the basement of their home in 1976, Mr. Kelly and his wife, Janet, sought to sink deep roots into their Baltimore neighborhood. “After we started our business, we actively sought ways to support our community and other causes,” he shared. While growing his business with his family and throughout his tenure in the Maryland state senate, Kelly’s dedication to philanthropy expanded exponentially from helping organizations on the local level to transforming communities nationwide and across the world. Notably, his work in support of the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation has helped more than 465,000 at-risk youth gain access to safe and clean places to play at the nearly 100 Youth Development Parks the Foundation has built throughout 26 states and Washington, D.C.
