TIMONIUM, MD – Frank Kelly III, CEO of Kelly & Associates Insurance Group/KELLY Payroll (KELLY) and his wife, Gayle attended the 2018 John W. Brick Mental Health Foundation’s Resiliency 5K & 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk on Sunday, October 14th at the Maryland State Fairgrounds.
The John W. Brick Mental Health Foundation was founded in an effort to change the way that people look at mental illness. Founders, Lynne and Victor Brick know first-hand how devastating mental illness can be. Victor’s brother, John was medicated for his mental illness and the medication had him feeling so bad, physically that he would take himself off the medication as soon as he felt himself feeling better. Unfortunately, this put John into a tailspin with the end result leaving him delusional, caused him to wander off and eventually, ended up homeless on the street.
Lynne and Victor now strive to help people before the only solution left is medication. They want to save families from going through the heartache they experienced and although, they “don’t think exercise is the only answer, they do believe it is part of the answer.”
The money contributed to the Resiliency 5K & 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk will go to fund, conduct and promote evidence-based research on how holistic treatments – such as exercise, nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices -benefit mental health.
